Volunteer work

I have been volunteer at the Peninsula Humane Society in my home town for about 9 years now. I adore working with animals and volunteering for my community made it worthwhile. Outside of the humane society I have had incredible opportunities to work with TnT Puppy rescue as well as other rescue organizations including the San Francisco SPCA.

Looking onward into my career path, I would love to work with brands such as the Humane Society due to my deep connection to their cause. Working with the company for so long, I have been able to aid in social media marketing strategies within their instagram and facebook pages. Tying both my passions for rescue organizations and helping animals in need with my interest in social media and digital marketing, I hope to make a difference in my community and communities around the united states.

In my time volunteering I was able to foster rescue animals, aid in the kitten nursery, help with perspective families looking to adopt as well as spread awareness of the organizations’ mission. I began volunteering at the SPCA by fostering animals who were in need of their vaccinations and ended up adopting Ginger who is pictured to the right! The bulk of my time is spent in the kitten nursery where I have been trained to feed weeks old kittens as well as help test them for various diseases. We take extreme caution and quarantine many kittens for panleuk and ringworm as we do not know the medical history of these kittens. In the past years we would get many kittens relocated to our facility due to hurricanes in the east coast. Being such a young age and going through such trauma, a big part of our job as volunteers is to help them feel at ease around humans. I love this job as a volunteer and I hope to spread interest in those whom it would appeal to!
